There is also a specials board which varies depending on what seems to be available. I am now a regular diner on Mondays and find the service friendly, the food excellent and the view great. Like the secret diner, we were disappointed cos we had both looked forward to visiting a 'serious' fish restaurant in Blyth.

As a starter, I had the herring dish which was very nice but my wife ordered the Camembert which was an enormous portion and worthy of a main course on its own a definite 'ughh' from her, far too much

Main course - I had plaice (turbot was not available) with the butternut squash veloute with oyster and prawn. The fish was swimming in the sauce and was not very appetising. My wife had fish and chips (small portion) which she said was very nice.

Overall we were quite disappointed - the food was not that good even though the waitress tried very hard and she was to be honest lovely. However she had to defer to the kitchen on two occasions to answer our questions.

I hope we exhibited teething problems in a new restaurant because with certainty I can say that Blyth does need a very good restaurant and the door is wide open for this to happen. Over to you Blyth Boathouse !!!!.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
